Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. (Philippians 4:6)
Be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18) Wait for and confidently expect the LORD.
Wait with hope for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Yes, wait with hope for the LORD. (Psalm 27:14) I wait [patiently] for the LORD, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope.
My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; More than the watchmen for the morning. (Psalm 130:5-6) The LORD is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, To those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word]. (Lamentation 3:25)
I will stand at my guard post And station myself on the tower; And I will keep watch to see what He will say to me, And what answer I will give [as His spokesman] when I am reproved.
Then the LORD answered me and said, Write the vision And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets So that the one who reads it will run.
For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:1-3) Therefore the LORD waits [expectantly] and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. Blessed are all those who wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:18)
Let integrity and uprightness protect me, For I wait [expectantly] for You. (Psalm 25:21)
He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him]; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage]. (Proverbs 2:7)
If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)
In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge [regarding the word and purposes of God. (Colossians 2:3) And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him— The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and strength, The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:2)
So that your ear is attentive to [skillful and godly] wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding [seeking it conscientiously and striving for it eagerly];
Furthermore, if you call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding,
If you seek skillful and godly wisdom as you would silver And search for her as you would hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] And discover the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:2-5)
The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]! And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation]. (Proverbs 4:7)
Give instruction to a wise man and he will become even wiser; Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning. (Proverbs 9:9)
The wise will hear and increase their learning, And the person of understanding will acquire wise counsel and the skill [to steer his course wisely and lead others to the truth]. (Proverbs 1:5)
Apply thy heart unto instruction, And thine ears to the words of knowledge. (Proverbs 23:12)
The mind of the prudent [always] acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise [always] seeks knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15)
Think over the things I am saying [grasp their application], for the Lord will grant you insight and understanding in everything. (2 Timothy 2:7)
For the LORD gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6)
