Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him. (Proverbs 30:5)

As for God, his way is upright; the word of God is pure; he is a shield to all those who take refuge in him. (Psalm 18:30)

The precepts of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. (Psalm 19:8) Because the command is a lamp, the teachings are a light, and the warnings from discipline are the path of life. (Proverbs 6:23)

Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105)

We also have the prophetic word strongly confirmed, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. (2 Peter 1:19)

Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise (the Messiah) from on high will dawn and visit us,

TO SHINE UPON THOSE WHO SIT IN DARKNESS AND IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH, To guide our feet [in a straight line] into the way of peace and serenity. (Luke 1:78-79)

Some dwelt in darkness and in the deep (deathly) darkness, Prisoners [bound] in misery and chains,

Because they had rebelled against the precepts of God And spurned the counsel of the Most High. (Psalm 107:10-11) You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. (Psalm 73:24)

And if you offer yourself to [assist] the hungry And satisfy the need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday. And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your soul in scorched and dry places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. (Isaiah 58:10-11) Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied. (Matthew 5:6)

He has satisfied the one who thirsts, filling the hungry with what is good. (Psalm 107:9)

He brings about justice for those who are oppressed. He gives food to those who are hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free. (Psalm 146:7) I, the Lord, have called you in justice, I the LORD have called you in righteousness and have held your hand and have strengthened you and have given a covenant to the people and for a light to the Gentiles;

To open the eyes of the blind, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who sit in darkness from the prison. (Isaiah 42:6-7) The people who walk in [spiritual] darkness Will see a great Light; Those who live in the dark land, The Light will shine on them. (Isaiah 9:2)
