I will exalt You, my God and King;
I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation will commend Your works to the next, and will proclaim Your mighty acts, the glorious splendor of Your majesty.
And I will meditate on Your wondrous works.
They will proclaim the power of Your awesome deeds,
and I will declare Your greatness. (Psalm 145:1-6) The LORD is great. He should be highly praised. His holy mountain is in the city of our God.
The things we had only heard about, we have now seen in the city of the LORD of Armies, in the city of our God. God makes Zion stand firm forever. [Selah] Like your name, O God, your praise [reaches] to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
Let Mount Zion be glad and the cities of Judah rejoice because of your judgments. "This God is our God forever and ever."
For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will guide us beyond death." (Psalm 48:1,8,10-11,14) And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your soul in scorched and dry places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. (Isaiah 58:11) Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the LORD And whose hope and confident expectation is the LORD. For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. (John 15:5,7) But whoever habitually keeps His word and obeys His precepts [and treasures His message in its entirety], in him the love of God has truly been perfected [it is completed and has reached maturity]. By this we know [for certain] that we are in Him: whoever says he lives in Christ [that is, whoever says he has accepted Him as God and Savior] ought [as a moral obligation] to walk and conduct himself just as He walked and conducted Himself. (1 John 2:5-6)
Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example]
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ
and walk continually in love.
Let love be your guide. Christ loved us and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God. (Ephesians 5:2)
So that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]. (Colossians 1:10)
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love. (Ephesians 3:17)
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say--living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude.
That person he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity]. (Psalm 1:3)
