But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name. Jesus answered, “This is the work of God: that you believe [adhere to, trust in, rely on, and have faith] in the One whom He has sent.
That your faith may not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Yet we do speak wisdom among those spiritually mature [believers who have teachable hearts and a greater understanding]; but [it is a higher] wisdom not [the wisdom] of this present age nor of the rulers and leaders of this age, who are passing away.
No one can have faith without hearing the message about Christ.
For Apostolic authority is not a thing of words, but of power. What are the 7 powers of God?
The sevenfold ministry of the Spirit:
Including the Spirit of the Lord, and the Spirits of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of might, of knowledge and of fear of the LORD, here are represented the seven Spirits, which are before the throne of God. God promised a divine power which shall be solely for a divine purpose. This is because the power will come through the Holy Spirit, and the primary purpose shall be to win souls to the kingdom of God. Human might, power, and strength are not sufficient to accomplish the work of God on earth. It takes the presence, enablement, and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to fulfill “thy will be done on earth.” Divine force or power; powers or forces that are universal, or transcend human capacities. Divinity applied to mortals qualities of individuals who are considered to have some special access or relationship to the divine.
Then he said to me, “This [continuous supply of oil] is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel [prince of Judah], saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of whom the oil is a symbol],’ says the LORD of hosts. Yes, even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will proclaim my message.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
God arms me with strength. His perfect way sets me free.
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened and empowered me, so that through me the [gospel] message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear it; and I was rescued from the mouth of the lion.
