It is better to take refuge in the LORD

Than to trust in man.

It is better to take refuge in the LORD

Than to trust in princes. (Psalm 118:8-8)

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress,

My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]. ( Psalm 91:1-2) I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will point out to you whom you should fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority and power to hurl [you] into hell; yes, I say to you, [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him! (Luke 12:4-5)

I say to you, whoever declares openly and confesses Me before men [speaking freely of Me as his Lord], the Son of Man also will declare openly and confess him [as one of His own] before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied in the presence of the angels of God. (Luke 12:8-9)

Because you have made the LORD, [who is] my refuge,

Even the Most High, your dwelling place, He will command His angels in regard to you,

To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. (Psalm 91:9,11)
