Faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality--faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval. Those with true faith accept God's word, focusing on assurance about what we do not see, looking beyond the situation as it can be perceived by natural vision. What is the true object of faith?

The object is Christ and the reward is peace with God. Faith in Christ is the only pathway to perfect peace that passes all understanding.

Our faith is also the assurance of what we don't see—the Holy Spirit working in and through us. This confidence and assurance is supernatural because it comes from God. Faith gives us assurance by bringing us some of the substance of what we are hoping for. So faith isn't just believing. Believing in Jesus was and is exclusive. Jesus says in John 14:16, “I am the way,” or John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” This is the only way.

Paul taught this to the Romans when explaining that all may receive the gift of faith: “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." In other words, faith cometh by hearing the message that is the word, or gospel, of Christ. Faith is when we see things as "impossible" in our life. That is the moment that we have to trust in Him, rely on His word, search all the promises of God, and meditate on those promises until trust arises in our Heart. It is by faith that Christ dwells in the heart. How do we live by faith in Jesus?

Prayer is one of the most important parts of living by faith.

Another key way to living by faith is to read the bible. One of the most important ways to live by faith is to obey God,

trust God, seek God,

live a life of thankfulness and

have faith in God. It is by faith that we live.

We walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises].

Keep focused on God as the object of your faith. Cling to the things of God for a lasting hope. True faith is lived out actively in our lives.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, “THE JUST and UPRIGHT SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:17)

Living by faith means every day, no matter what, you have a quiet confidence that God is good. Walking by faith, not sight means fixing our eyes on JESUS the author and finisher of our faith. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary,

So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting].

Indeed, our lives are guided by faith, not by sight, we walk through faith, not through sight. May Christ through your faith actually dwell, settle down, abide; make his permanent home in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love. Ephesians 3:17

I wait [patiently] for the LORD, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; More than the watchmen for the morning. O Is
