The ones who hope in the Lord are believing God will come through. That becomes the source of their hope and the reason they can wait with confidence. But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
Will gain new strength and renew their power;
They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun];
They will run and not become weary,
They will walk and not grow tired. (Isaiah 40:31) Resting in God by allowing Him to take charge, believing that He is sufficient and powerful. Those who trust in Him must be strong in faith to contend with their foes or trials to triumph.
The God who rules and reigns over all is the One who rewards those who seek Him. Let us long to seek God and find our reward in Him. In order to please God, we must believe that God exists.
But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him. ( Hebrews 11:6)
Therefore the LORD waits [expectantly] and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him [since He will never fail them]. (Isaiah 30:18) I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world. [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] ( John 16:33) Keep pressing towards the mark even when you are suffering,
He has overcome the world and promises to bring you into His perfect presence forever and ever. And Jesus says, You will have tribulation in this world. Don't be surprised by it, but I speak peace into the middle of that, because I take heart. Jesus is summing up his teaching to his disciples, telling them that all that he has imparted to them is to bring his disciples closer to God. For the inner peace and the victory, continuous, abiding victory both now and in the future. Christ gives His followers who rely on Him when faced with tribulation. Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father, who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment].
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. For if you forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:9-15)
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) Those who claim to be good will be rejected by Jesus if they have not carried out the will of God.
So whoever breaks one of the least [important] of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least [important] in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19)
