Fearing the Lord is believing in Jesus Christ, acknowledging him as God, joyfully obeying him, and trusting him with our lives completely.
“Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” and it starts by having respect for the majesty of God. We show love for God by following his commandments — not because we have to, but because we want to live a truly spiritual life, from this comes wisdom.
The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. (Proverbs 1:7)
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon those who fear Him [and worship Him with awe-inspired reverence and obedience], On those who hope [confidently] in His compassion and lovingkindness. (Psalm 33:18) Those who have a reverent, submissive "fear" of God are kept under His sovereign control.
Those who believe Him are those who keep themselves in His presence where He can watch over us. The LORD watches over those who obey him, those who trust in his constant love.
God is faithful [He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise—He can be depended on], and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1Corinthians 1:9) We should all live according to our faith and consciences, honoring the Lord in all we do, work to please Him in our lives, faith in Jesus guarantees a share in his life. His love for righteousness and justice and His goodness spread all over the earth. Fearing God is to desire to live in harmony with His righteous standards and to honor Him in all that you do. The people who boast and hope in Jesus Christ are the house of God. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory to the end. Jesus is called the “builder” of this house. (Hebrews 3:6) For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
