God has said that the penalty of sin is spiritual death and separation from God in a place of judgment called hell: “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Jesus clearly taught that sinners were condemned in sin and would perish and go to hell if they didn't believe in Him as their Savior (John 3:16-18) Sin that leads to death is deliberate refusal to believe in Jesus Christ, to follow God's commands, and to love one's brothers. Baptized believers, died to sin. Having no fellowship with such works is to have no indulgence or excuse for them. Sexual immorality, foolish talk, dishonesty, impurity, greed and disobedience are all fruitless deeds of darkness.

Do not participate in the worthless and unproductive deeds of darkness, but instead expose them [by exemplifying personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character]. (Ephesians 5:11) God is the light of pure goodness, perfect righteousness, and absolute truth.

As we walk in the light we will have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. When we walk as we should we will not find ourselves encouraging or excusing sin. Following Jesus change everything about life. We live in the light of Jesus. God is the light in the dark world that we live in. Light is truth and righteousness and darkness is falsehood and evil.

The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]. (John 1:5) Whoever gives thought to the word, he knows he can do nothing without divine assistance, so he casts himself on God's mercy and promises after choosing a wise course of action will discover good.

The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction. Wisdom, understanding and knowledge that comes from a deep connection to the divine. He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good,

And blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the LORD.

The wise in heart will be called understanding,

And sweet speech increases persuasiveness and learning [in both speaker and listener].

Understanding (spiritual insight) is a [refreshing and boundless] wellspring of life to those who have it. (Proverbs 16:20-21)
