God has given directions as to the way his children should walk and live in this world. God's word is our manuel for life. Living honorable lives in a hostile world by doing good. Those who love God, following in His will and purpose for them, living faithfully before God in this world. No matter what comes our way, no matter our circumstances, everything will be worked out for good.

The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the LORD, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. (Psalm 37:23)

God gives His children both provision and protection that they are ordered, secured and fixed by our Father in heaven. Our God establishes our steps because He loves us and is pleased to be our provider, our protector, and our establisher, not only in this life but in the eternal realms to come, which are reserved for us in heaven. Those who are under the guardianship of God’s power. We are shielded, kept, and protected and are guarded by God's power. This is the true grace of God which we stand. We must understand not only what God's grace is, but that grace is our place of present standing before Him.

God is guarding our inheritance, and He is guarding us from anything that might cause our inheritance of eternal life with Him to be lost. Those born into God's family have the hope of an inheritance reserved in heaven for us, who are kept by the power of God through our faith.

They are for you, who through faith are kept safe by God's power for the salvation which is ready to be revealed at the end of time. (1Peter 1:5)

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation]. (Acts 4:12)

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5) Salvation rests on God's mercy in sending His Son to die for our sins.

For God has not destined us to [incur His] wrath [that is, He did not select us to condemn us], but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1Thessalonians 5:9) For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
