For the LORD has chosen Zion;

He has desired it for His dwelling place:

“This is My resting place forever” [says the LORD];

Here will I dwell, for I have desired it. (Psalm 132:13-14) King David and his covenant with God, is a reminder that God is a promise keeper. And by God's grace and in God's strength, David survived and was able to flourish.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11-28-30) When we are weary and face difficult times, we too can trust in God and triumph in his power. He is the house, the temple David wanted to build as a dwelling place for the Lord in Zion. But he is also the son of David, the eternal king who God promised will rule his people with love and justice.

God promised David that from His line would come a king who would sit on an eternal throne in an eternal kingdom. Happy is he whose resting-place is in the secret of the Lord, and under the shade of the wings of the Most High. (Psalm 91:1)

"My people shall dwell in quiet resting places." Peace and rest belong not to the unregenerate, they are the peculiar possession of the Lord's people, and of them only. The God of Peace gives perfect peace to those whose hearts are stayed upon Him.

You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. (Isaiah 26:3) God's kind of peace. The peace that remains in you forever irrespective of your situation. It quenches every trouble even before they come. (John 14:27) That peace surpasses all human understanding. (Phillippians 4:7)

Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit.

Saturate our entire being with your presence, love, joy and peace and draw us ever closer to you every moment of our life. so that our life will bring glory and honour to your holy name. We ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We enter God's rest when we believe in Christ's finished work on the cross.

All who will rest from their own work of bringing their own life under control can enter into God's rest. The promise holds true for you and me. The rest of God is available to us. Unbelief may prevent us from experiencing God's rest; therefore, in order to enter that rest, we must have faith. It is the will of God that we enter His rest. The way we do this is by walking in and finishing the work that has been prepared for us beforehand.

For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God] enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now because we are confident in our salvation, and assured of His power], just as He has said, “AS I SWORE [an oath] IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,” [this He said] although His works were completed from the foundation of the world [waiting for all who would believe. (Hebrews 4:3)

Focus all your attention on God, His ways, His thoughts, His desires because you know His design for you is better than your heart can even imagine. What He has prepared for you is greater than what your eyes see and your ears heard. Paul writes “eyes have not seen,” he indicates that no man can predict God's acts. No one knows God except for the Spirit of God. We can partake in understanding God because of the Holy Spirit within us. No one understands God, and is able to give Him advice.

Eyes expressed the innermost feelings and desires of the heart. Therefore a 'good eye' revealed morally good and generous intentions, while an 'evil eye' exposed an evil heart with wicked intentions of envy, greed and jealousy. Eyes can represent clairvoyance, omniscience, and/or a gateway into the soul. Eyes are associated with are: intelligence, light, vigilance, moral conscience, and truth.

But just as it is written [in Scripture], “THINGS WHICH THE EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND THE EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND WHICH HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, who obey Him, and who gratefully recognize the benefits that He has bestowed]." (1Corinthians 2:9)

"Faith of Hope in His Word"

I wait [patiently] for the LORD, my soul [expectantly] waits, And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; More than the watchmen for the morning. O Is
