Therefore, encourage each other and strengthen one another as you are doing. (1Thessalonians 5:11) Encouraging and inspiring your neighbors is an important part of loving them as yourself. Providing encouragement and inspiration is important.

They are able to love one another because they have been taught by God to do so.

In connection with God's love for us, this is unconditional love. Our nationality should never surpass our faith and its duties. Since we cannot see God in all of His divine essence, love is meant to be the way God is seen. This is what we must keep in mind when we consider our “neighbor”. As we grow in our sanctification, we must find ourselves loving both God and our neighbor.

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates (works against) his [Christian] brother he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. ( 1John 4:20)Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus showed His love for others by blessing and serving the poor, the sick, and the distressed.

After Jesus instructed his disciples with this command, he explained that when they love as he loved, that is how others would know they are his followers. That means when we love people just as Jesus loves us, they too will know that we are his disciples because of the radical love we show.

Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words]. (1John 3:18) Jesus is explaining the relationship between himself and his followers—seeking to model this relationship on his own relationship with his Father.

This is My commandment, that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another, just as I have loved you. (John 15:12)

Jesus explains that our Father in heaven loves to answer our prayers and give us that which we seek. He tells his disciples that just like a good father gives good things to his children, so will your Father when we sincerely ask, seek, and knock. Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7) But to seek first the Kingdom of God means prioritizing love—something Jesus embodies throughout his life and teaching, especially on the cross.

Seeking the presence of God requires daily dedication. Ways to seek God's kingdom is by spending time with Him through prayer and study of His word. This helps us align our hearts and minds with His will, deepening our relationship with Him and increasing our understanding of His kingdom.

Jesus warned His disciples about worldly concerns often, and we counter them by seeking God and His righteousness. The Almighty calls us to seek first the kingdom of God instead of worrying.

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. (Matthew 6:33)

I love those who love me; And those who seek me early and diligently will find me. (Proverbs 8:17)
