Commit your way to the LORD;
Trust in Him also and He will do it.
He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light,
And your judgment like [the shining of] the noonday [sun.
Leave nothing back, but give everything to God. “and He will establish your plans.” The double meaning here is that God will put the right plans, the ones according to his will, into your heart. His plans will become your plans. And then he will make those plans succeed.
Dear heavenly Father, I have many plans and I know that not all of them are the same as your plans for me but I commit my ideas to you. Use those that you know are a blessing for me and others. One of the best ways to commit to God is to be honest with Him. God is not scared of your issues or your doubts. He isn't shocked by where you are or where you've come from. We need to be open and real with God as we walk through our stuff with Him.
Commitment means that certain decisions are made in advance, irrespective of the circumstances: I will honor Christ, whatever the pain and whatever the cost. I will obey God's word, even when that is the hardest thing to do.
It means taking our successes, failures, plans, and questions to God in prayer every single day—not just “the big stuff”. It means seeking out answers from God through the Bible and trusted Godly counsel that help us make decisions based on what is in line with God's will. This is committing to God.
I will stay focused and everyday I will do something, big or small, to help me achieve my goal. I will continue even when it seems like it won't happen or others say I can't. I will not give up. My goal is to [GOAL] and I am committed to achieving it.
In order to fully commit to something, you will need a clear and personally compelling reason. Without a strong desire, you will struggle when implementation gets difficult. With that compelling desire, however, insurmountable obstacles are seen as challenges to be met.
Why must we show commitment to God?
GOD WANTS YOU TO BE COMMITTED TO HIM SO THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW HE IS IMPORTANT TO YOU. Our commitment to him is our witness.
1. Everything that I set my mind to do, I will see it through!
2. Everything that I put my hands to, shall- prosper!
3. Everything that tries to hinder my steps, shall be blocked!
4. Every tongue that rises against me, shall be silenced!
5. Every thought & action shall be in alignment with God's Plan! So then, let us pursue [with enthusiasm] the things which make for peace and the building up of one another [things which lead to spiritual growth].
Just as you are love, I want that attitude to define me also. As I learn to love others as you love me, help me hate sin even as Jesus demonstrated his hatred of sin. Give me a heart of compassion to want to help others by speaking the truth in love and showing them your way to heaven.
“Let us go to the house of the Lord” Know that going to church and studying God's Word was important to Jesus. Feel happy that they can go to church and worship God with others. Respond by enthusiastically participating in Sabbath School and Church.
Psalm 122 teaches us to look forward to gathered worship each week. It motivates us to reap the benefits of gathered worship each week. And then finally it encourages us to pray for God's people regularly.
So God, we pray for the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace. God, I pray that, we pray together that reality over Will and the church that he's a part of leading. And God, we pray that over all of our churches.
Three Bonds of Unity:
Besides charity, the Church has three important visible bonds 1)The profession of one faith. 2)The common celebration of worship (especially through the sacraments). 3)Apostolic succession through Holy Orders. For the things that bring peace and the things that build each other up." The Good News: It's not just God who grants peace. You can bring more peace into your life by helping others.
That's when you cultivate patience, speaking truth to yourself and resting in the good news of Jesus Christ. If we cultivate these qualities that are found in our Lord Jesus and that the Spirit produces in us, we will be empowered to walk in a manner worthy of our call and pursue Kingdom unity.
But I urge you, believers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in full agreement in what you say, and that there be no divisions or factions among you, but that you be perfectly united in your way of thinking and in your judgment [about matters of the faith].
1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.
