For the LORD Most High is to be feared [and worshiped with awe-inspired reverence and obedience];

He is a great King over all the earth.

He subdues peoples under us

And nations under our feet.

He chooses our inheritance for us,

The glory and excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah.

God has ascended amid shouting,

The LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

Sing praises to God, sing praises;

Sing praises to our King, sing praises.

For God is the King of all the earth;

Sing praises in a skillful psalm and with understanding.

God reigns over the nations;

God sits on His holy throne.

The princes of the people have gathered together as the people of the God of Abraham,

For the shields of the earth belong to God;

He is highly exalted.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. When you take refuge in something physical, you are trusting it will take care of you or at least make you feel safe and secure. When we take refuge in God, we are offering that trust to him instead.

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!"

With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks and praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good. Trust [confidently] in the LORD forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner],

For the LORD GOD is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].
