He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”

For He will save you from the trap of the fowler,

And from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions,

And under His wings you will find refuge;

His faithfulness is a shield and a wall. (Psalm 91:1-4) The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1)

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)

But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory [and my honor], and the One who lifts my head. (Psalm 3:3) Being rooted and grounded in the word is key to our spiritual strength and spiritual life of having been built on a solid, unshakable foundation. By daily reading and meditating on the word, in prayer spending time alone with the Shepherd of our souls; feeding our soul on a daily basis. The law of the LORD is perfect (flawless), restoring and refreshing the soul;

The statutes of the LORD are reliable and trustworthy, making wise the simple.

The precepts of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart;

The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the LORD are true, they are righteous altogether.

They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

Moreover, by them Your servant is warned [reminded, illuminated, and instructed]; In keeping them there is great reward. (Psalm 19:7-11) All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s to will, both publicly and privately behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage];

the Scriptures train God's servants so they may be complete, fully qualified, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, as a servant [tested by trial is this workman] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
