For the LORD is good; His mercy and lovingkindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth [endures] to all generations. ( Psalm 100:5) God's truth and His faithfulness both spring from His unchanging nature. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical. You must be born again [reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified]. But whoever practices truth [and does what is right--morally, ethically, spiritually] comes to the Light, so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are--accomplished in God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence on Him]. (John 3:5-7,21) Those who rely on God, as He is explained in His own Word, find Him a source of strength and salvation. Every word of God has proven to be true. (Proverbs 30:5) Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God [which He has laid] stands [sure and unshaken despite attacks], bearing this seal: The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names the name of the Lord stand apart from wickedness and withdraw from wrongdoing. (1Timothy 2:15,19) The Spirit of Truth comes to guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son. (John 16:13) Whatever is hidden away will be brought out into the open, and whatever is covered up will be found and brought to light. (Luke 8:17) But the [Holy] Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons. For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come. In love, in faith, and in [moral] purity. Until I come, devote yourself to public reading [of Scripture], to preaching and to teaching [the sound doctrine of God’s word. (1Timothy 4:1,8,13)
