Shielded and Armored

To have God as your shield means that you are His, you belong to Him, you fight under His shield and He protects you as His own. Just as a shield protects a warrior from swords, arrows, darts, and spears.

Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11) The Bible isn't just like any other book. The words written in it are powerful. We are to wait on His word. Helping us to remain covered in the spiritual armour of God so that we may stand fast in Christ in the evil day.

The LORD is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him. (Psalm 28:7) Thank you that Your word of truth is altogether sure and can never fail. God keeps every promise He makes. He is like a shield for all who seek Him for protection. God is seen as the Great Protector who serve as a Rock, a Shield and a Shepherd for His people.

Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him. (Proverbs 30:5) You are my shelter and the house of my refuge and I have hoped for your word. (Psalm 119:114)

But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory [and my honor], and the One who lifts my head. (Psalm 3:3)
