When You said, “Seek My face [in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need],” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I will seek [on the authority of Your word].” (Psalm 27:8)
In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God; will not seek nor inquire for Him.
The wicked do not care about the LORD; in their pride they think that God doesn't matter. (Psalm 10:4)
Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom. (Proverbs 11:2)
But He gives us more and more grace through the power of the Holy Spirit; As the scripture says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6) A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. (Proverbs 29:23)
I have made everything; that's how it all came to be. I, the LORD, have spoken. The people I treasure most are the humble--they depend only on me. These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word. (Isaiah 66:2) For this is what the high and lofty One says, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: He lives in the height and in holiness, and also with the one who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15) I have not spoken in secret, In a corner of a land of darkness; I did not say to the descendants of Jacob, Seek Me in vain [with no benefit for yourselves]. I the LORD speak the truth, I declare what is right. (Isaiah 45:19)
I love those who love me; And those who seek me early and diligently will find me. (Proverbs 8:17) He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel, Seek Me [search diligently for Me and regard Me as more essential than food] so that you may live. (Amos 5:4) The humble have seen it and are glad; You who seek God [requiring Him as your greatest need], let your heart revive and live. (Psalm 69:32) Seek and deeply long for the LORD and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. (Psalm 105:4) My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear of it and be glad. (Psalm 34:2) In God we have boasted all the day long, And we will praise and give thanks to Your name forever. Selah (Psalm 44:8) Not to us, O Lord, not to us; but to thy name give glory. (Psalm 115:1)
For from Him [all things originate] and through Him [all things live and exist] and to Him are all things [directed]. To Him be glory and honor forever! Amen. (Romans 11:36) Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the LORD [as their most essential need] rejoice. (Psalm 105:3) Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)
