Rooted Faith in Him...

The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (prayers offered by those who have God's approval) are able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power] and produces wonderful results.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months,

and again he prayed, and heaven did give rain and the land produced its crops [as usual] and brought forth fruit. (James 5:16-18)

And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive,

and everything, whatever it be, that you ask for in your prayers, if you have faith, you shall obtain. (Matthew 21:22)

And this proves that faith comes from a message heard, and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ. (Romans 10:17)

So then, does He who supplies you with His [marvelous Holy] Spirit and works miracles among you, do it as a result of the works of the Law [which you perform], or because you [believe confidently in the message which you] heard with faith?

Just as Abraham BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS, [as conformity to God’s will and purpose—so it is with you also] approved by God.

So understand that it is the people who live by faith [with confidence in the power and goodness of God] who are [the true] sons of Abraham. (Galatians 3:5-7) What is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? [No, a mere claim of faith is not sufficient—genuine faith produces good works.]

So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].

But someone may say, “You [claim to] have faith and I have [good] works; show me your [alleged] faith without the works [if you can], and I will show you my faith by my works [that is, by what I do]. (James:15,17-18) But the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God]. ( Habakkuk 2:4)

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, “THE JUST and UPRIGHT ( In-right standing with God) THE RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:17)

We live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself up for us. (Galatians 2:20)
