Now while they were on their way, Jesus entered a village [called Bethany], and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching. But Martha was very busy and distracted with all of her serving responsibilities; and she approached Him and said, “Lord, is it of no concern to You that my sister has left me to do the serving alone? Tell her to help me and do her part.” But the Lord replied to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:38-42) Focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work]. (Hebrews 12:2) A focused spiritual life can lead to greater clarity, discernment and alignment with our spiritual path. With a greater sense of peace in our spirit-man with an understanding. Understanding the power of our focus in life is essentially purposeful for living life. What you focus on is a controlling factor of power in your life. Directing our minds, focus and energy towards spiritual alignment and seeking a deeper connection to Christ.
We do these things by keeping our minds steadfast on Jesus who enables focused living. By striving to live according to His plans, ways and path He has for our life making Him first in all things. Living a life of self-offering is the most authentic form of worship we can offer. Our life should be set apart for Christ, holy and be acceptable to Him; reflecting a life transformed by faith and obedience. By the grace and mercies of God, we present our bodies [dedicating all of ourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of true worship. (Romans 12:1) Soaking in His presence; He fills us with His peace, love and spirit, He fills us up till we overflow.
One thing I have asked of the LORD, and that I will seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD [in His presence] all the days of my life, To gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. (Psalm 27:4)
I will meditate on Your precepts And [thoughtfully] regard Your ways [the path of life established by Your precepts]. (Psalm 119:15) How I love your instruction! Every day it is my meditation. ( Psalm 119:97) His delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he (habitually ) meditates on it day and night. (Psalm 1:2)
This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. (Joshua 1:8)
