Knowledge of God

In steadfastness of mind, knowledge, truth, and faith grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. (2Peter 3:18) That learning gives wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ. We increasingly become aware of the fact that salvation is by grace alone, and that God therefore deserves all the glory. Having absolute confidence in His wisdom, power and goodness. We must continue in the things we have learned and convinced to hold tightly to these truths. Our life of faith flows from these truths; God's redemptive plan accomplished in the person and work of JESUS. These truths equip us in every good work. Everything in God's word gives us examples of what pleases Him. Matthew 5:16 tells us to let our light shine in good works, in moral excellence and honor glorifying our Father in heaven. Light is in the truth; truth is in His word because His word is truth. Mature spiritually by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect in His plan and purpose for you. (Romans 12:2) This means to renew your mind daily in His word. Continually renewed in the spirit of your mind in your new self, created in God's image. In the righteousness and holiness of the truth, living in a way that expresses gratitude for salvation. (Ephesians 4:24)
