The righteous will flourish like the date palm [long-lived, upright and useful];

They will grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic and stable].

Planted in the house of the LORD,

They will flourish in the courts of our God.

[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age;

They will flourish and be vital and fresh [rich in trust and love and contentment];

[They are living memorials] to declare that the LORD is upright and faithful [to His promises];

He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. (Psalm 92:12-15) By His grace, by His word and Spirit, we receive all the virtue that keeps us alive, and makes us fruitful.

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say--living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude. (Colossians 2:6-7) Diligently seek learning with unwavering faith in God; faith is not a feeling or emotion, but rather an action. True faith in God is not just about believing, but also about putting that belief into action. True faith will naturally lead to a life of good works.

We can walk by faith by focusing on God's faithfulness and power, allowing His guidance and instructions in His word to align our actions accordingly.

For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God]. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

In His word the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, the just and upright shall live and walk each and every day by faith. (Romans 1:17)
