For the LORD gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 1:6) If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5) [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. (Ephesians 1:17) My son, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
So that your ear is attentive to [skillful and godly] wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding [seeking it conscientiously and striving for it eagerly];
Yes, if you cry out for insight, And lift up your voice for understanding;
If you seek skillful and godly wisdom as you would silver And search for her as you would hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, the worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] And discover the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives [skillful and godly] wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him];
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage],
He guards the paths of justice;
And He preserves the way of His saints (believers).
Then you will understand righteousness and justice [in every circumstance]
And integrity and every good path. (Proverbs 2:1-9) The revelation of your words brings light and gives understanding to even the inexperienced. (Psalm 119:130) Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105)
Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. (Psalm 119:133)
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. (Romans 12:21)
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5)
This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection]. (1 John 1:5)
For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]. (1 John 5:4)
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] (John 16:33) The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37)
