Faith in Action

For we walk by faith, living a life of faith, not one of sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses. (Hebrews 11:1)

So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting]. (2 Corinthians 4:18) Focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].

Just consider and meditate on Him who endured, [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:2-3) Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:5) Focusing our heart, mind and will on Christ, by trusting and obeying Him, and seeking strength and guidance from His example and teachings we apply them to our daily life. Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace]. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing. (James 1:3-4) By placing our trust in Christ; He brings us hope and this is a sure foundation that will not fail us.

You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. (Isaiah 26:3) Trust [confidently] in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Selah (Psalm 62:8) O taste and see that the LORD [our God] is good;

How blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him. The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous [those with moral courage and spiritual integrity]. Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous,

But the LORD rescues him from them all. (Psalm 34:8,19) Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous [who actively seek right standing with Him];

Shout for joy, all you upright in heart. (Psalm 32:11)
