Created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation]. (Ephesians 4:24) We were created to live in Christ, through Christ and for Christ; guided by His percepts, ways and attitude of being. You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. (Matthew 5:14-15)
But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light [of God’s precepts], for it is light that makes everything visible. (Ephesians 5:13) For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine;
The LORD my God illumines my darkness. As for God, His way is blameless.
The word of the LORD is tested [it is perfect, it is faultless];
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
For who is God, but the LORD?
Or who is a rock, except our God,
The God who encircles me with strength
And makes my way blameless. (Psalm 18:28,30-32) Faith is the strength which the world shall emerge in the light. This light reaches the darkest corners of the world. Your strength and resilience is tested in times of difficulty; who are able to remain steadfast and persevere in the face of adversity. The fruit [the effect, the result] of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
trying to learn [by experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [and letting your lifestyles be examples of what is most acceptable to Him—your behavior expressing gratitude to God for your salvation]. (Ephesians 5:9-10) But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him], that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God]. ( 2 Corinthians 5:18-19) But speaking the truth in love [in all things--both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head--Christ. From Him the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature, building itself up in [unselfish] love. (Ephesians 4:15-16)
