I have chosen the way of truth.
I have chosen the faithful way.
I have chosen a life of faithfulness. I have determined to live by your regulations. Thine ordinances have I set [before me].
(Psalm 119:30)
Surely you have listened to him and as his followers
you have heard His voice and in Him have been taught--and this is true Christian teaching. (Ephesians 4:21)
As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him]. (1 John 2:27)
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the [Holy] Spirit who is from God, so that we may know and understand the [wonderful] things freely given to us by God.
We also speak of these things, not in words taught or supplied by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual thoughts with spiritual words [for those being guided by the Holy Spirit]. (1 Corinthians 2:13) For no prophetic message ever came just from the human will, but people were under the control of the Holy Spirit as they spoke the message that came from God. (2 Peter 1:21)
Then the LORD reached out, touched my lips, and said to me, Listen, I am giving you the words you must speak. (Jeremiah 1:9)
Now go! When you speak, I will be with you, and teach thee what thou shalt speak. (Exodus 4:12)
The Lord GOD has given Me [His Servant] the tongue of disciples [as One who is taught], That I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple [as One who is taught]. (Isaiah 50:4)
Jesus answered them by saying, My teaching is not My own, but His who sent Me.
Those who want to follow the will of God, he shall know of the teaching, whether it be of God, or whether I speak from myself.
Those who speak on their own authority are trying to gain glory for themselves. But he who wants glory for the one who sent him is honest and doesn't have dishonest motives. (John 7:16-18) But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel [that tells the good news of salvation through faith in Christ], so we speak, not as [if we were trying] to please people [to gain power and popularity], but to please God who examines our hearts [expecting our best].
For, as you are well aware, we have never used the language of flattery nor have we found pretexts for enriching ourselves--God is our witness;
nor seeking glory of men, neither from you, nor from others. (1 Thessalonians 2:4-6)
Our message is not about ourselves. It is about Jesus Christ as the Lord. We are your servants for his sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5)
We proclaim Him, warning and instructing everyone in all wisdom [that is, with comprehensive insight into the word and purposes of God], so that we may present every person complete in Christ [mature, fully trained, and perfect in Him—the Anointed].
I labor for this, striving with His strength that works powerfully in me. (Colossians 1:28-29)
Of this [gospel] I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power. (Ephesians 3:7)
But by the [remarkable] grace of God I am what I am, though it was not I, but the grace of God [His unmerited favor and blessing which was] with me. (1 Corinthians 15:10)
For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13) Do your best to win God's approval,
Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)
Now may the God of peace [the source of serenity and spiritual well-being] who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood that sealed and ratified the eternal covenant.
May God equip you in everything that is good to do, in every good work to carry out His will and strengthen you [making you complete and perfect as you ought to be], accomplishing in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21)
